For the Needs of Implementation of Project Activities
Expert for development and supervision of methodology implementation
- General scope of work:
The expert will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a tailored methodology to contribute to countering tobacco industry (TI) efforts aimed at undermining tobacco control measures connected to the TAPS ban in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Duties and responsibilities:
- Developing a comprehensive methodology for monitoring the tobacco industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- Overseeing the implementation of the developed methodology, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with project objectives,
- Collaboration with project stakeholders to gather insights and feedback for refining the methodology as needed,
- Guidance and supervision to the recruited young people responsible for implementing the methodology,
- Conducting training sessions to educate the team on methodology principles, data collection techniques, and ethical considerations,
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of methodology implementation in each city, providing support and guidance to team coordinators as necessary,
- Analysis of collected data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging tactics used by the tobacco industry,
- Collaboration with media outlets and key stakeholders to disseminate the collected data and raise awareness about TI tactics,
- Informed about developments in tobacco control policies and TI tactics globally to inform methodology enhancements and adjustments as necessary.
- Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, communications, or at least 10 years practical experience in tobacco control,
- Legal or regulatory expertise, preferably in tobacco control or a related field,
- Project management abilities, including overseeing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines,
- Experience in tobacco control advocacy, public health research, or related fields,
- Familiarity with the specifics of the new Law on Tobacco Control and its implications,
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Previous experience in a similar consulting role is advantageous.
Location of assignment: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
