• Under the guidance of the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director, lead PROI’s work on advocacy and communication, ensuring that all opportunities are optimally utilized.
  • Promote PROI and its objectives by ensuring high visibility and understanding of organization’s priorities among partners and at highest political level.
  • Execute and evolve the PROI’s advocacy and communication directions, by designing, developing, and delivering advocacy strategy and messaging, lay out the tactics, plan events, engage partners, build and sustain campaigns and proactively take
  • Developing and managing communications strategies for PROI and for individual projects
  • Developing press releases, statements, blogs, stories and testimonials, as well as any content or communication material for different target audiences and stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular updates on PROI websites and manage PROI's activities on social networks.
  • Be responsible for the collection, and management of the photos / videos related to PROI's programs.
  • Pursue and coordinate sign-off processes for all communications and media products.
  • Advise country management and program team on all aspects of media relations.
  • Proactively identify, meet, build and cultivate relationships with reporters and major media outlets to increase PROI's visibility and influence, and keep contacts and databases up-to-date.
  • Participate and/or organize events with press editors and journalists.
  • Provide creative and viable ideas and proposals to identify and seize media opportunities.



  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience and concrete results in the development and implementation of advocacy and communication strategies, including advocating, campaigning, networking, public relations.
  • Proven experience interacting with government and partner organizations.
  • Experience of direct working with Ministerial and other high level representatives.
  • Proven networking capacity with important stakeholders – including but not limited to private sector, business leaders, members of parliament, senior government officers and/or Ministers.
  • Very good communication skills, also technically. Excellent knowledge and use of the various communications tools and platforms of a digital world and social media.
  • Experience in developing a diverse portfolio of materials and content, including press releases, websites, social media, articles, posters, brochures, etc.
  • Fluency in B/H/S and English
  • Strong commitment to tobacco control and smoke-free environment


Experience in creating video, photo or other visual content is an advantage.
